Vietnam attends charity winter fair in Moscow

(VOV) - The International Women’s Club in Moscow hosted its Charity Winter Fair on December 1,raising funds for projects in support of disadvantaged children and elderly people.

The International Women’s Club includes members who are the wives of ambassadors and international organisation representatives in Moscow.

International Women’s Club President Isabel Zakovska noted the organisation has operated for 34 years, attracted more than 500 female members from different nations, and undertaken various charity activities on behalf of disadvantaged people.


The event featured displays of traditional products including  fine arts andhandicrafts, and culinary products encapsulating elements of each participating nation.

A special art programme including dances, songs, and musical pieces was performed by artists from the Republic of Korea, India, Poland, and Ukraine.

Vietnam also contributed two traditional compositions: Vietnam Que Huong Toi (Vietnam My homeland), and Con Duyen (Discrete Charms).

More than 180 donors from a variety of nations contributed products to the fair.

All the event’s proceedings will be given to the Charity Fund to assist its more than 50 projects underway in Russia. Last year, the fair raised appromixately US$217,000.
