Gang caught attempting to smuggle drugs haul from Laos
VOV.VN -Police operating in Yen Thanh district of the central province of Nghe An province have successfully arrested four people for allegedly attempting to smuggle a huge quantity of drugs into Vietnam from Laos.

Upon performing a search of his home a total of 10 cakes of heroin, nine kg of methamphetamine, and 20,000 synthetic drugs were discovered hidden under the roof tiles.
The original bust led to police to expand the case further, leading to the arrests of three additional suspects, including Hoang Doanh Diep, 38, Nguyen Cong Cuong, 35, and Pham Van Hung, 42.
In addition to the arrests the police were also able to seize a further 200g of heroin, approximately 1,000 synthetic drugs, and two cars.
Once under questioning at the police station, Dinh Giang confessed to purchasing the drugs in Laos and attempting to smuggle them into Vietnam for the purpose of selling them.
The case is currently under further investigation.
