Vietnam bestows Friendship Order on Russian Supreme Court leader

President Truong Tan Sang presented the Friendship Order to President of the Supreme Court of Russia Mikhailovich Lebedev in Hanoi on March 2 in honour of his dedication to ties between Vietnamese and Russian court sectors.

Expressing delight at the Vietnam – Russia comprehensive strategic partnership over the past time, the President hailed the outcomes of a recent working session between the two Supreme Courts.

He said Vietnam always treasures the invaluable support that the Russian government and people have provided for the country during the national liberation.

Russia is one of the countries with which Vietnam wants to cooperate in court activities and judicial reform, he said, adding that he hopes ties between the two Supreme Courts will further progress.

Lebedev, for his part, said since the two Supreme Courts signed a cooperation agreement in 2008, their mutual support has brought about practical results.

He informed his host that both sides have agreed to facilitate visits by high-ranking officials and experts, as well as collaboration among provincial-level courts.
