Attending the National Party Congress is not only the great honour of delegates that also makes them feel duty-bound after that. During interviews granted to VOVNews prior to the congress, all the delegates realise their responsibilities, and have different expectations of this important event.
Delegates to the 10th National Party Congress held a preliminary meeting in Hanoi on April 17, with the adoption of the congress agenda and issues pertaining to the Party Congress.
The 15th conference of the 9th Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) concluded in Hanoi on Saturday. The two-day conference approved the CPVCC’s reports on documents to be presented at the Congress, and personnel plans of the 10th CPVCC, the Political Bureau and the Secretariat.
The Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) opened its 15th conference in Hanoi on Friday to check final preparations for the 10th National Party Congress to be held in Hanoi from April 18-25. The conference will consider and approve documents to be presented at the Congress.
Phan Dien, a Politburo member and permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat, has affirmed the Party’s determination to crack down on negative phenomena, particularly bureaucracy and corruption, considering it one of the leading tasks in Party building work.
The Communist Party of the Russian Federation (KPRF) highly values the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV)’s loyalty to its obvious choice of socialism and ideals of the Russian October Revolution which opened up a transitional period from capitalism to socialism, said Gennady Zyuganov, Chairman of the KPRF Central Committee.
The first priority of the congress will be identifying strategies for the renewal and development process to fulfill the national development targets set at the previous congresses. Anti-corruption work will also be one of important issues, Mr Phan Dien says.
The congress, scheduled to take place from April 18-25, is titled “Increasing Party leadership capacity and combative strength, bringing the whole nation to strength, boosting the national renewal process and removing the country’s under developed status.”
The Ninth National Party Congress convened in Hanoi from April 19-22, 2001 with the participation of 1,168 delegates representing more than 2.4 million Party members nationwide and 35 international delegations.
The 8th National Party Congress met in Hanoi from June 28-July 1, 1996. Party General Secretary Do Muoi, on behalf of the Party Central Committee, delivered a political report to the congress, evaluating 10 years of implementing the Doi Moi (Renewal) process.
