Tien Minh advances to second round of Hanoi Ciputra

VOV.VN -Top badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh on June 1 advanced to the second round of the men’s singles at the Hanoi Ciputra-Yonex Sunrise 2016.

The world no 35 handily defeated his Indian rival A Joshi 21-18, 21-8 in just 30 minutes of play. Minh next faces J Chiang of Malaysia.

Meanwhile Vu Thi Trang also advanced to the second round of the women’s singles where her next challenger is D Ritupama of India.

In mixed doubles, Do Tuan Duc and Pham Nhu Thao face Taiwanese players Liang Jui Wei and Ching Hui Chang in the second round.

This year’s event, which runs through June 5, has attracted the participation of more than 300 top players from 17 countries around the globe.
